She talks and talks and talks...

Yes, our baby was very slow to learn how to crawl. And walking doesn't look like it's coming anytime soon. But what she lacks in movement, she makes up for in communicating! This baby is a talker! Jonathan's mom said that he was talking in complete sentences at 16 months old. And my family's endearing (I think?!) nickname for me was "the lip-flapper." So I suppose it should come as no surprise that London is a champion communicator at a year old!

Here are some examples:
She can "sign" the following: more, all done, night night, fish, & bunny.
She can say or has sounds for these words: bye, mama, dada, baby, shoes, door, duck, book, God, teeth, five, peas, cheese, cereal, "baa," "ruff," "tweet," etc.

London is so very precious and we are enjoying every moment with her.

London's first birthday party!

We had a wonderful time celebrating London's first year last weekend. Enjoy these pictures from the occasion:
Any time you are wondering what London is looking at in any of these pictures, chances are it is a balloon! This girl still loves balloons and continues to call them: "baoon"

Opening presents. London loves this stroller that the Plewniaks gave her. She puts her baby in it and says "Bay Bay" (drawing out the "a" sound a lot- it's really cute)
Here is London with one of her babysitters Danielle (Stephen, Danielle's husband in the background).
Here is London with one of her other babysitters Katie. She really does love Katie, it was just the end of a crazy day for this one year old... :)
This was funny. London got a really serious, concerned look on her face when everyone started singing "Happy Birthday" and I put a cake with a candle in front of her! Understandably so, don't you think?
But once all the singing was over and the fire was out, she happily contended with polishing off her cake. Man did she enjoy it! She wailed when we took it away from her so she could open her gifts.

Our birthday girl!
Champion griller!
London with Otis and Omegus (my parents).

Laurel's first birthday party... she took it like a champ, sweet baby...
More party guests. We moved it inside for a little bit because it was near 90 degrees that Saturday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LONDON!!!!

Today is our wonderful baby's first birthday. She will turn one at 1:25 p.m.!
We have a fun day of activities planned for her. I will post pictures documenting our time today and pictures from her birthday party later.
We are so thankful to God for this year that He's given us with London. I am freshly reminded of what a precious gift she is to us, undeserving sinners.
Above all else, our prayer is for our child to know God, so join us in praying for her today. Thank you our dear friends!

London enjoying her last days as an 11 month old!

London with adorable Laurel Kittrell. I taught London to be gentle with her baby doll (since Daddy teaches her to go crazy with all of her other stuffed animals!), so she was practicing being gentle with a real baby on Laurel. It was sweet seeing them together. We can't wait for Laurel to get bigger so she can play for real!

Meg with her baby!
Here is Laurel with both of her grandmas!
Eadie Cate came over to play a few weeks ago. This was London's expression when Eadie first started playing with the toys in her room. They did a pretty good job sharing, and it was only an issue once. Good girls!

It's fun having a stroller partner!
I moved most of London's books to the bottom shelf of our bookshelf in the living room. She loves to pull all of the books off and have them all around her as she pages through each one.
Playing in the fountains downtown after visiting Jonathan for lunch!
We finally got a tomato off our lone tomato plant! And London LOVES tomatoes. This one was extra special so she crawled around with it for a while and eventually sunk her teeth into it.

This is how I found London one morning when she woke up. Poor thing.
Eadie comes to play again!
The babies swarmed to the open CD case that Jonathan was flipping through.

*What's funny about these smiles is that for some reason she would laugh every time a car drove over the speed bump in front of our house. I don't know why is was so funny this day, we must have watched 2,000 cars go over that speed bump in the last 11 months of her life. But this day it was a riot!
