London Yesterday

Here are some pictures of London during a playtime yesterday. I think she is beginning to look less like a newborn and more like a little baby girl now.

London makes a new friend

Last week, we had Casey and Nora over to play. Jonathan, Casey and Nora are from New Orleans, but now they go to church with us at Cornerstone! Nora is a very sweet baby. We had such a fun time with them!
Nora was born on Aug. 21, so she's just about 3 weeks older than London. Nora and London favor each other a bit with their fair skin and big eyes. It was neat seeing them play next to each other! (we didn't encourage them to hold hands like that; they just reached out for each other when we laid them down.)

The Oldacres take an adventure

Last Saturday, what began as a lunch out at Chik-fil-a, turned into an Oldacre Family Adventure! Because Jonathan knows how much I enjoy discovering new and different things for us to do, he set out for us to find a place I had been wanting to visit for a long time. It turned out that the place is closed for the season and won't reopen until next month, but we still had a great time and discovered another cool place. I got some good pictures from our time there. I love making memories with our recently expanded family!
Thank you Jonny for blessing me this weekend- I had a wonderful time!

4 months old!!!!!

Four months is a fun age!
London went for her four month check-up on Thursday. Here are her stats:
W 14#3 oz. (75%)
H 24 3/4" (50%)
Head circum. (60%) -- (not quite sure the significance of this?)

*And I was informed that London has done the non-psychologically impossible. Apparently babies aren't supposed to have separation anxiety until the second half of their first year of life. But starting a couple of weeks ago, on five separate occasions, London has cried when I leave her. I told the doctor that I suspected separation issues and she said, "Well, that's not psychologically possible." Hmm... not sure I believe that... (This is our sit-in pediatrician while our real doctor is on maternity leave.) These are real I'm-not-happy-with-you-I-want-Mommy tears. It's very sad. Anyone have any thoughts on how to comfort a baby in this situation, at this age? I'm sure her babysitters would greatly appreciate it! ***Shout-out to Danielle and Becca who have been consistently watching London for us with incredible servants' hearts!!!!

Lunch at Gridiron Burgers with the HGTV crew! Here is London with Meredith.
London and Jill

Here is London mid-bubble blowing. It's very cute (and very messy)!

We had a great Saturday today driving around. Stay tuned for some pictures from our fun time out as a family!

Time with Friends

London got to play with her friend Eadie Cate yesterday. Eadie was born Oct. 13 so she is just one month younger than London. She is fun to be with. And Mommy and Daddy like Eadie's mommy and daddy too!

Ella Reese is 17 months old now. Here we are all playing together at a place in the mall. London isn't sleeping in this picture, she's just looking down. She had a pretty fun time, but looks forward to the day she can run around like the other kids, rather than just chilling in Mommy's arms the whole time. (I quite enjoyed the chilling in Mommy's arms part, after watching all the other moms have to chase their kids around!)

I feel like this girl's cheeks continue to get bigger and bigger! What's a girl to do??
Here is London with "George." He is a Christmas gift from Jonathan because he thinks she is curious like Curious George. She loves George. That is she likes to put George in her mouth and she seems to do that with things she loves... Mommy's hands, Daddy's shoulder, etc.

The Days of January

Hello there! Here are some more recent pictures of our growing lady. She has an adorable open -mouthed smile that she wears all the time, but you won't see that in any of these pictures! As soon as she sees the little light on my camera, she gets this look on her face that you will see many times below. I've tried all kind of tactics to capture her smile (shutting off the flash, hiding the camera and then quickly bringing it out and snapping a picture.. all to no avail. Oh well.)

Oh, and have I mentioned how much she LOVES eating her hands? You'll see that many times below.

And cookie monster's eye finds a home in her mouth too...
Grammy took Mommy and London out to lunch at Panera Bread yesterday. Thanks!! This was London's first trip as a "responsive" person (the first time she went she couldn't smile or coo at fellow lunchers).
I got the tail-end of one of her smiles here- the closest I've come so far!
Reading a goodnight story with daddy. She likes this one. We think she's "grown out" of Hello Bee! Amazing that a 3 1/2 month old could grow out of anything! But it's true, it bores her these days.

New Year's Eve Party at the Blanton's. Hanging with Mackenzie here.
There's Lillian, who is expecting Dean only next month! Elizabeth (the one in blue) is also having a boy, due in April. It's her first and I'm so excited for her! See Caleb, our friend on the right. He was playing a card game with Jonathan there. I'm pretty sure Jonathan won; yes, we'll say he did win. Hurray!
